Supper at a friend’s: slow cooked spareribs, salad, mashed potatoes, portuguese grilled chicken, cheese (I forgot what it was but it wasn’t brie or camembert), baguette. Dessert: pastel de nata (portuguese egg tart), cookies and crêpe-cake. (Dec 30, 2012)

Tom Yum hot pot (prepared by my cousin), a cousin’s gỏi (salad, in squared dish), some leftover gỏi from the evening before, bánh bèo, my mom’s gỏi cuốn (vietnamese spring roll), chả giò (imperial rolls/fried spring rolls) and I (with my sister’s assistance) made another large tray of crab, shrimp and peppers with grated cheese on baguette hors d’oeuvres.
Dessert: vanilla sponge “cheesecake” topped with slices of strawberries by yours truly.

Dec 24, 2011: Christmas supper with my dad’s family at our house
Lobsters (brought from New-Brunswick by my uncle and cooked by my dad), an uncle’s gỏi (salad), bánh cuốn and bánh bèo from ‘caterer(s)’, my mom’s gỏi cuốn (vietnamese spring roll) and my mom and I (with some help from my sister) made a large tray of crab, shrimp and peppers with grated cheese on baguette hors d’oeuvres.
[edit] I forgot the dessert - my bûche de Noël: vanilla sponge cake with cream cheese and whipped cream filling topped with cherries and strawberries.
